Founded in 2005, Ichikoo is a London based film production, music and multimedia company with a quirky eye and an artistic touch. Ichikoo specialises in design-led films for the corporate and private sectors. Ichikoo means 19 in Japanese, the time our founding director lived in Japan. He also likes chicks.

Ichikoo's creative director was a TV producer for Rapido (Eurotrash) and 20/20 (Dispatches) as well as music producer (Mr Bongo, Disorient, JVC & Hed Kandi) before setting up Ichikoo. Our directors and editors have worked on Hollywood blockbusters and TV shows such as United 93, Bourne Supremacy and commercials for Red Bull, X-Box, EA Games and Footlocker.

Our ethos is to redress the balance between style and content bringing you fresh, savvy and innovative films for the corporate and private world. Our success in documentary & short film making, design and music production allows us to creatively apply these elements into effective, engaging and inspiring films.

Ichikoo's directors are responsible for some ground breaking & innovative short films made for Channel 4 and independent cinema. We've directed, filmed and produced commercials for TV such as Footlocker, EA Games, Red Bull and viral films for X-Box. Ichikoo have edited trailers and pilots for companies such as Rapido, September Films and Twenty Twenty TV as well as ground-breaking treatments and formats.

Design is integral to the Ichikoo philosophy. Most of our films and animations reflect the current trends within the design community as well as the nature of the project. We've used our designers to create cutting edge websites, flyers, posters, packaging, advertisements, DVD covers and of course used design concepts within our films.

We also produce Music Videos for various artists and bands offering a complete production service from concept stage to final delivery.

Ichikoo's Life Cache service edits down all your films and photos into an easily navigable DVD with chaptered menu. We'll set your footage
to music and even make a short taster film for you to show friends and family.

Ichikoo produce Kid Flicks recording the lives of their children as they grow up. Combining family media, photographs, music (and even new footage filmed by Ichikoo) we'll create a playful, beautiful portraiture of your kids. Ichikoo film and produce your own Personal Documentary with professional cameramen & directors, often featuring your family and friends as actors or interviewees. Those who fear the prospect of public speaking can pre-record their Speech on Films wowing audiences with their narrative flair as well as complementing their stories with cool visuals and music. Ichikoo will whip-up a Mock Documentary for those who feel they have underachieved (such as a pop video, whacky biopic etc) turning their dreams into reality.

 

 

MUSIC

Music is part of Ichikoo's heritage, having started their long journey as music producers, DJ's and label owners. Music is a major factor in shaping a film and giving it impact. Ichikoo are experts in both selection and mix.

 

Ichikoo have compiled many albums for Mr Bongo (London's premier Hip Hop, Jazz and Latin label in the 90's) and produced tracks for Masters at Work, Dimitri From Paris, Monday Michiru and more. They have their own successful artists ( Routine & Lazy Grace), with recordings for JVC Victor, Columbia Records and Sony. Lazy Grace's "How Deep is Your Love" was the first single released on Hed Kandi and they have recently recorded with Carol Decker from T'pau. Ichikoo have also produced tracks for PR campaigns such as Glaxo Smith Kline and theme music for Turner Broadcasting, CNX, Taste Festivals and Channel 4 giving an affordable twist on the usual corporate fare.

Shawn Lee joins Ichikoo as their talented new music producer who'll add cool soundtracks to your media/corporate films. Shawn's career started in Los Angeles working with The Dust Brothers and Jeff Buckley. After being in various bands, performing on The Tonight Show,
Lee moved to London, where he signed a solo record deal with influential DJ Gilles Peterson's Talkin' Loud. Shawn is a super-talented musician and writer, penning songs such as "Happiness", recorded by million selling British artist Will Young, and music for films such as Ocean's Thirteen, The Break Up, and for TV such as CSI Miami, Lost, Desperate Housewives,"Nip Tuck "and Ugly Betty.
