Here at Ichikoo, we’re not averse to giving away a few secrets. Ultimately, a secret’s only worth its weight in gold if it can be built upon
with a solid presentation, great visual communication and some hard evidence. This month, we thought we’d show you how we
won our pitch with Novartis Vaccines. The brief was to produce a short ‘flu awareness’ movie highlighting the risks of Influenza and the
need for vaccination to protect both you and your loved ones against the virus. The film should be educative, serious and hard hitting.

Stage 1: The Credentials Pitch
Ichikoo created a small credentials booklet that reflected the
creativity and ethos of the company as well as explaining to
Novartis our approach to filmmaking. For added impact, we
gave them a pack of goodies wrapped in a pharmaceutical
bag to both humour and show our attention to detail.
After successfully completing the creds pitch, we worked on our
story ideas. We suspected the clients' measure of shocking was
a little less than ours and pitched three ideas of varying strength
and tone. We delivered the storyboards in a Marvel-style comic
and created an animatrix based on their final choice. (see here)
Communicating an idea via a storyboard can be misleading if the tone
and look are hard to gauge. We created a two-minute mood film cut
from various hard-hitting films to illustrate tone and imagery. This
gave Novartis a clearer picture and allowed them to isolate themes
and devices that resonated with their campaign. (see the film here)
We believe a successful pitch is a mix of innovative ideas, good
visual communication and understanding the client’s needs.
We did extensive research on Novartis prior to pitching our
credentials and storyboards. Creativity has little value without
recognising the clients needs and their modus operandi. (see film)
It’s not often we publicize our sister company’s portfolio, but Ichikoo
Weddings landed a big one in June when they were asked to film
the wedding of Joe Cole & Carly Zucker. Ichikoo Weddings is not a
videography company but a production company employing high end
production values, making weddings cinematic. (see the site here)
Ichikoo's limited range of T-shirts poke fun at Britains who unknowingly wear garments with Japanese mistranslations on them. Our Tee's have been lauded by Chris Moyles and Jonathan Ross and include deliberate errors such as Freedom of Laundry instead of Freedom of Choice. Part I of Ichikoo's PR drive. BUY HERE>
